Hi everybody,

Yesterday I was at a concert of Sonata Arctica! I went there with some school friends. Thanks to Sonata Arctica I was able to find out that i'm not the only one who listens to this music.
It was a very special concert. Tony (singer) said that it was exactly 10 Years after the release of their first album Ecliptica. So they played more songs of it then usually. It was full in this little hall. I was about five meters away from the stage.

So, the first act was from Winterborn. I didn't know them before. It was something like hard power metal. Nothing special to me.

The second one was the Dutch band DELAIN! It's a Symphonic Metal band with a bit of Gothic. Well, I didn't know a song of them, too. But it was Awesome anyway. They had a great stage presence! Everybody was dancing and head banging. It looked f***ing great when their singer Charlotte Wessels swung her hair^^

And so after Delain we were ready for SONATA ARCTICA!

It all begun with the instrumental version of the song Everything Fades To Gray. It was just played from the CD. Some cool light effects and this was it.

The next song was Flag In The Ground. They played a great solo. It sounded just like the studio version. It's one of my favorite songs on The Days Of Grays. Because it's about getting free.

Then they played the songs: Paid In Full, Black And White, The Last Amazing Grays, As If the World Wasn't Ending and Caleb. Well, I can't remember something special happening during these songs so we just go to the next.

Here he told us about the tenth anniversary of Ecliptica. Together we sang: "Happy Birthday to you. Happy Birthday to you. Happy Birthday Dear "Ecliptica" Happy Birthday to you.

And after that Sonata just started with 8th Commandment. I can really relate to this song because I WAS one of them who believed in this lies.

Next was Full Moon. This was hilarious! After that beautiful keyboard intro Tony just started to yodel XD
I really love this song especially the part with "Ran away! Ran away! Ran away!" and "damm damm damm damm, FULLMOON"! Now when I think back I think it was crescent moon that night... anyway, Elias and Henkka made a great solo on that song, too.

Don't Say A Word. This was amazing! During the chorus everybody was jumping and singing and clapping. I love this song.

Than Tony just said: "I know you want it! I know you know it! I know you neeeed it! VODKA!"
And so we sang "Vodka, we need some vodka, we need some vodka, we need some vodka, HEY! Vodka" and so on with clapping in rhythm. It was getting faster and faster and faster till it was just a big applause.

So after this came a little pause. Henkka and Elias played along a bit in the meantime.

With The Cage came a very speedy song. It's great song to sing with, too. I love the line "I must be freed or I will die before the harvest moon". It means very much to me. I think with this concert I got a step closer to getting freed.

Last Drop Falls was a special one. Charlotte Wessels from Delain was going to sing it! The microphone was too quiet at the beginning, but the rest was just awesome! She put so much emotion in it. Just a beautiful song. At the end Tony came back to stage and they hugged each other.

"Shakespeare had Romeo & Juliet... We have Caleb & Juliet." I love every phrase of this song. Theres so much truth inside.
Tony even sang the end: "why...why...you're closing my eyes"

It all ended with the end of the full version of "Everything Fades To Gray". This made it very epic.

Than they played some kind of sad music and Tony stretched his arms toward the audience and hugged himself. It looked so adorable.
So the hole band lined up and did their bows.

Before leaving I wanted to buy a tour T-shirt and wristband. Well, the last wristband was just sold before my eyes and the tour T-shirt was only available beginning from XL... So I bought a "The Days Of Grays" one.

I will edit it as soon as I remember something important that happened at this evening, too.

So this was my longest journal entry ... till now XD
